Sanjeev Sardana is the founder of BluePointe Capital Management. He oversees the investment process and leads the development of all BluePointe strategies and services.
Before launching BluePointe in 2006, Sanjeev was a director in the private banking division of Credit Suisse where he was responsible for managing wealth for the private bank’s high net-worth clients and family offices. At Credit Suisse, he was handpicked by senior management to serve on the Advisory Council of Excellence. Sanjeev began his career in wealth management in 1999 at DLJ.
Sanjeev’s main area of expertise is investing in non-traditional asset classes, such as private equity and hedge funds, and traditional asset classes, such as equities and fixed income. He also has extensive experience in derivatives, including options and tax efficient hedging and monetization strategies.
Sanjeev has served on the board of the India Community Center (ICC), and he is a charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs, a leading non-profit organization that promotes entrepreneurship globally. He has a B.S. in accounting from Rutgers University and an MBA from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management.
Sanjeev has joined the pickleball revolution, and you can find him crushing it on the courts on weekends.
Laura Braverman is BluePointe’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. She joined BluePointe Capital Management at its inception in 2006. Laura oversees the general operations of the firm and manages the operations team. She has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Laura has worked with our founder, Sanjeev Sardana, for more than 20 years – both at BluePointe and Credit Suisse.
Before joining BluePointe, Laura was a sales associate in the private banking division of Credit Suisse, where she was responsible for handling concentrated stock positions, restricted stock issues and monitoring portfolios for high net-worth clients.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Laura implemented hedges for large municipal bond portfolios as a hedging specialist at Lehman Brothers and then MHG, Inc. She has a B.A. from Dickinson College.
Laura feeds her need for speed by racing her Spec Miata racecar or driving her go kart. She also coaches other drivers learning high performance driving on the racetrack. Otherwise, she’s running the trails of Marin or hanging out with her dogs.
Janice Osugi, CFA, joined BluePointe Capital Management in 2021 as director of investment strategy. She is responsible for managing the firm’s due diligence process and providing research and analysis on new and existing investments. Janice monitors client portfolios with the advisory team and makes recommendations in alignment with our investing philosophy and portfolio guidelines.
Prior to joining BluePointe, she was a senior member of the investment team at Progress Investment Management Company where she sourced new investments and executed due diligence on behalf of their multi-billion-dollar public pension plan and foundation clients.
Before that, Janice acted as a fiduciary for the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco by evaluating investment opportunities, risk and performance for its $3 billion public/private/real assets across endowments, philanthropic funds and supporting foundations.
Janice honed her skills in wealth management at Credit Suisse by managing portfolios of traditional and non-traditional asset classes, and overlaying expertise in derivatives, to enhance returns or mitigate risk while engaging accounting, lending, and legal experts to preserve wealth.
She has a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
When she is not immersed in investment research, you can find Janice training her rescue dog and dreaming of her next scuba diving or snowboarding trip.
Ashish Patel is a wealth advisor and financial planner with experience in the hospitality/tourism industry, having worked with the Small Business Administration to facilitate 1,031 exchanges.
Prior to BluePointe Capital Management, he served as an investment advisor representative and registered representative to clients of First Command Financial Services, a Texas-based broker-dealer. In addition to his investment advisory experience, Ashish is well versed in life insurance products and serves as a life insurance agent in California. He has acted in a fiduciary capacity throughout his financial career, ensuring that his recommendations are made in the best interest of his clients. Ashish’s passion lies in helping families build and maintain generational wealth. Additionally, he was a leader in the U.S. Government’s Department of Defense for more than 15 years.
He has a B.S. from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA. from Texas A&M University.
Outside of the office, Ashish enjoys teaching and mentoring college students and recent graduates on financial literacy and planning.
Stephen Portnoy is a client services manager at BluePointe Capital Management. He handles client requests, creates portfolio reports and provides marketing and research support.
Prior to joining BluePointe, Stephen was a client associate for RBC Wealth Management (RBC). While at RBC, he provided comprehensive support to the team, and forged strong relationships with client through consistent communication.
As an account operations associate for Mellon Transition Management, Stephen obtained substantial experience with domestic and international account transition management. He also brings his expansive knowledge of portfolio accounting from his most recent experience with BTR Capital Management.
Stephen has a B.A. from the University of Hartford.
For fun, Stephen enjoys attending live music events of all kinds and spending time in the outdoors – hiking, skiing, camping, you name it!
Christian Tiscareno is a wealth advisor at BluePointe Capital Management. He has a broad range of experience in the financial industry – from foreign exchange research with DailyFX, to commercial banking at Wells Fargo, to investment management, where he has served clients in a fiduciary capacity throughout his entire career. Christian utilizes his expansive expertise to help high net worth investors understand their investment options, and customize portfolio strategies suited to their personal financial situations, goals, and objectives.
Prior to joining BluePointe, Christian was an investment counselor at Fisher Investments. He has a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business and a B.A. in Economics from UC Berkeley, where he was a Bill Gates Millennium Scholar.
Outside of the office, Christian enjoys leading the Bill Gates Millennium Scholars Alumni Chapter in San Francisco. He also enjoys staying active by exploring the Bay Area’s hiking trails.
Bhavana Shah handles the accounting responsibilities for BluePointe Capital Management, and assists with billing and data management of our clients’ outside holdings.
Before joining BluePointe, Bhavana consulted with various companies in the Bay Area as a tax specialist and bills payable analyst.
She has a B.C. from the University of Mumbai, India, and she has successfully completed her CPA exams in California.
Bhavana enjoys road biking and playing the piano, and according to her daughters, she is entertained by “bad” Bollywood movies!
Arati helps organize BluePointe events to ensure everything runs smoothly and assists the firm by taking on ad hoc projects. Prior to joining BluePointe, Arati worked in healthcare as a registered dietitian where she routinely engaged with patients and coordinated their care while working alongside a team of health providers.
She has an M.S. in Nutritional Science from California State University in Los Angeles. In her spare time, you will likely find Arati assisting in the classroom at her children’s school, or cooking up a storm as she explores new recipes in the kitchen.
